You hypnotize me baby – The healing power of Hypnosis

The healing power of hypnosis

How would you like if the next time you had to go to the dentist you could avoid pain, not by an (equally painful) injection but with the power of… your mind? Or if you could overcome your fear of small spaces with a session at your hypnotist (and not your therapist?

Lately I read more and more about the healing abilities of hypnosis. Many life coaches swear on it and most inspirational books, such as those by Louise Hay, Ask and it is Given and Ordering from the cosmic kitchen to name but a few consider it a great way to approach our inner self and enjoy true happiness every day.

So when the amazing life coach Virginie Desplaces organised a self-hypnosis workshop in Rhodes Old Town, me and my friends were eager to attend! We absolutely loved it and I really wanted to share with you the healing powers of hypnosis.

Virginie is not only a certified health coach, reiki Practitioner and transformational workshop leader, she is also a person with incredibly good energy and absolutely positive vibes! She explained to us what hypnosis is and –surprise!- it has nothing to do with what we thought.

Subjects in a hypnotic trance are not slaves to their “masters” — they have absolute free will. And they’re not really in a semi-sleep state — they’re actually hyperattentive.

Essentially, it is like allowing our self to express things that are usually blocked by our sub-conscious, “listening” to its needs in a way and therefore understanding (and controlling) our reactions.

Every so often we allow things out of our reach and control to affect our thoughts and, consequently, our feelings. Hypnosis helps us discover how to keep control in all aspects of our lives and how to claim the happy life we deserve. Because we do!

It can be used in issues like fears (my biggest struggle is fear of the dentist), quitting smoking, losing weight, competitive sports, performance in general, sleep disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma and many more.

Hypnosis began being popular during the 19th century and it is now widely respected, even by scientists and psychologists. Υou can read more online – there are many many articles – and you could also visit Virginie’s website or facebook page for more information.

If you want to CHOOSE your life and not just SETTLE in it, I think you could definitely try hypnosis! And you never know, it might actually CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
