Summer: backdoor barbeques and swimming by the pool sipping chilled pink lemonade, hearing the ice cubes clinking (and the cicadas singing their dizzying song). Add a good book or the latest Game of Thrones episode and you have a perfect plan for the weekend – and the whole summer I might add 😉
Even if you are staying home, in the comforting lull of your AC or the warm breeze of your balcony, this drink makes the perfect companion: fresh, fragrant and cool, it is also great for when you are having people over. Pink Lemonade Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice, plus 4 lemons, thinly sliced crosswise, for garnish
- 2 cups strawberry juice sifted (you can opt for cranberry juice if you want)
Directions:

Bring granulated sugar and 1 cup water to a boil in a medium pan over high heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Refrigerate until chilled, about 1 hour.

Add lemon juice, strawberry juice, and 1 1/2 quarts water to a serving container. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Refrigerate until ready to serve, up to 1 day.

To serve, add ice cubes and garnish with lemon slices (or strawberries if its their season).
You can also add alcohol of your choice if you are throwing a party 🙂
